The Brightwell offers a caring hand to those who need our help. We provide treatments, therapies, services and support to help make everyday life easier for people living with long term neurological conditions.

The Centre receives no funding from the NHS and less than 1% of our costs are met by government schemes. The Centre and our members are grateful for the generosity of community groups, businesses and individual fundraisers that allows us to continue to support people in need.

MEMBERSHIP

BECOME A MEMBER

We always welcome new members whether wanting to take part in our therapies or as supporters. We have a Centre Information Pack which gives full details of what we offer and how you can join.

Alternatively, why not visit the Centre, see what we have to offer, meet some of the staff and volunteers and find out how we might help you. More importantly, meet some Centre members and find out  what keeps them coming back for therapy. We are proud of what we do at the Centre and welcome the chance to show/explain our work to visitors.

If you would like a tour of the Centre, please contact us on 01454 201686 to book this in advance so that we can dedicate some time to spend with you and show you around.

Before accessing treatments and therapies at the Centre, you need to join as a member by following the steps below:

  • Contact us to arrange a visit, find out a more about the Centre and request a membership pack – or you can download the relevant membership pack from the links below. If you aren't sure which to choose give us a ring on 01454 201 686 and we will be happy to help.

  • Fill in the Membership Form and send/take the GP Notification Form to your GP.  Once completed these forms should then be returned to us. While all treatments are offered on a self-referral basis, we ask that your GP confirm, through signing the GP notification form, that they are aware you are coming to the Centre and that they know of no medical reason you shouldn't begin treatment.

Once we have received these forms we will then:

  • Book you in for a General Assessment (GA). All new members must be assessed by one of our physiotherapists prior to commencing treatment. During this assessment you will discuss which treatments you might like to have and which would be most suitable for you. A GA is useful as it provides a starting point against which we can plot your improvements. You'll be advised that you start with just one treatment at a time so that the benefits of each treatment are clear.

  • After the assessment process, you will be able to book in for treatment. We will talk you through how to do this when you come to the Centre.

  • It can take a bit of time to establish a pattern of treatment that works for you – there is no ‘one size fits all’.  Once you have established a pattern we will help you to complete your Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) and work out a schedule of contributions that suit you.

You can download these forms below, if you're unsure which information pack you need give us a ring
