THERAPIES
At the Brightwell, you can choose from a range of therapies, as well as specialist clinics, to aid in your recovery and to help manage the symptoms of your condition. Each of the therapists holds a relevant qualification within their own speciality and these are maintained with their professional bodies.
Right now we're not offering the full complement of therapies but we are working on it and are hopeful the physiotherapy and acupuncture will soon be on offer.
You can discover more about each therapy by following the links provided below.
Oxygen can be used alongside more traditional therapies in the treatment of a variety of health conditions as well as aiding in recovery from injuries, stroke and cancer treatments.
It is one of the main therapies we provide at the Centre. Since we began treatments in 1985, we have carried out over 100,000 individual oxygen sessions in our barochamber.
£30 per week for initial block sessions
£15 per session thereafter
Mental health and resilience are important parts of physical health.
Our counsellor, Emma Pople, utilises a person centred approach to counselling and will work with you to identify what areas you would like to improve
Maintaining mobility can be a challenge for many people with neurological conditions, particularly where there are also issues with pain and spasticity.
We offer regular physiotherapy sessions, for both individuals and groups, to help people maintain muscle strength and mobility through tailored exercise programmes, in our purpose-built gym.
£25 per session
£8 per class
Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy (SFH) helps people take control of their thoughts and find solutions to a problem rather than focussing on the problem itself. SFH can help with a wide variety of issues, from anxiety and depression to pain and addiction.
In short, it can help with anything you perceive to be a problem or that is stopping you living your life the way you want.
Acupuncture has been used as a complementary treatment for MS in the UK since the 1970s and has been shown to stabilise and improve many symptoms associated with neurological conditions.
Ongoing research and modern acupuncture techniques continue to yield further improvements, which are well documented.
Reflexology involves stimulating reflex points on the soles of the feet to induce therapeutic effects in different parts of the body.
Reflexology can be effective in alleviating aches and pains, fatigue and spasms, relaxing muscles and reducing stress – all of which can help people in the management of their neurological symptoms.
