  • Thank You to Our Volunteers and Bradley Stoke Town Council!

On Sunday 2nd November, a group of our wonderful volunteers attended Bradley Stoke Town Council’s Annual Fireworks Display to proudly represent The Brightwell. Bradley Stoke’s Mayor, Natalie Field, has chosen three charities to support this year - and we’re honoured to be one of them! Each year, the Town Council hosts fantastic fundraising events like the fireworks display to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities. Our volunteers joined the celebration to collect donations for the Mayor’s charities and raise awareness about The Brightwell. The evening was brilliantly organised, featuring a heartwarming performance from Bowsland Green Primary School’s Choir, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. With delicious food vendors, glow sticks, and a buzzing community atmosphere, it was a night to remember. A huge thank you to: Natalie Field, Mayor of Bradley Stoke, for selecting The Brightwell as one of her chosen charities. Bradley Stoke Town Council, for their ongoing dedication, organisation, and support. And of course, our incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to represent The Brightwell so proudly. We’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive and vibrant community.

  • Welcome Aaron Butcher - Our New Physiotherapist!

We are delighted to welcome Aaron to the Physiotherapy Team here at The Brightwell. Aaron joined us last month and is already busy seeing lots of members, fitting in with the team and finding out more about what we do here at the Centre. Aaron was born in Chichester, West Sussex. He became interested in learning more about physiotherapy after benefiting from the treatment himself after a tennis injury. Aaron studied Sports Science at College and then applied to the University of the West of England to study Physiotherapy and recently graduated in June 2025. Whilst at Uni, Aaron came to The Brightwell on a placement. We were very impressed with his obvious interest in all aspects of neurophysiotherapy at that time. We were delighted that when we recently advertised a vacancy for a Physiotherapist, Aaron applied and is now part of the team! Aaron has a lot of interests involving sports and plays tennis competitively, and enjoys playing golf and football. Please say hello to Aaron, next time you see him at The Centre. Welcome to the team!

  • Ciaran Completes the Loch Ness Marathon!

We’re proud to share that Ciaran has completed the Loch Ness Marathon – a fantastic achievement made even more meaningful by the reason behind it. As mentioned in a previous blog, Ciaran took on this challenge in memory of his uncle, Nick, a much-loved member of the Brightwell community. The marathon took place at the end of September and was a fantastic event. The route began just south of Fort Augustus and followed the scenic shores of Loch Ness, finishing in Inverness. With stunning views and plenty of hills, it was no easy task – but Ciaran pushed through and crossed the finish line with determination. So far, he has raised an incredible £1,731 in support of Brightwell. We’re so grateful for his dedication and for choosing to honour his uncle in such a meaningful way. Every pound raised helps us continue providing vital support to our community. Thank you, Ciaran – your effort, commitment, and generosity are truly appreciated.
